Ingredients for the soft tart
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 1/2 tbsp milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 lemon (Grated zest)
- 7 oz jam (I used forest fruits)
Tools
- 1 Mold 9-10 inches
Steps
In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
In a separate bowl, thoroughly mix the whole egg with the milk and oil. Gradually add the liquid ingredients to the dry ones and work the mixture until you get a homogeneous and soft dough.
If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour until it doesn’t stick to your hands.
You can roll out the dough as thinly as possible because it will rise during baking, on a floured surface with the help of a rolling pin, and place it in the mold (previously buttered and floured).
Trim the excess edges and place your preferred jam inside, leveling it well with a spoon.
With the leftover dough, create the classic strips for decorating the tart. In my case, I took each strip and twisted it gently to create a twist, I also created small balls to decorate all around the edge of the mold for an even nicer touch.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit in the center for about 30 minutes. If the surface isn’t perfectly golden at the end of the 30 minutes, extend the baking time by another 5 minutes.
Let cool completely in the mold before removing.
