Star Cookies with Yogurt Shortcrust: Vanilla Scent
I made these stars with vanilla-flavored yogurt shortcrust, and I can’t describe the aroma it releases!
I prepared the dough, baked the various shapes, and then made a simple icing with powdered sugar and water. I glazed them on the surface before filling.
These star-shaped cookies are a real delight! Thanks to the addition of yogurt, the cookies are particularly soft.

Ingredients for Star Cookies with Yogurt Shortcrust
With these ingredients, I made lots of little cookies and also a small tart.
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (I use spelt)
- 7 oz oz vanilla yogurt (Or your preferred flavor)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsps vegetable oil
- 1 tsp baking powder (A heaping teaspoon)
Steps for Star Cookies with Yogurt Shortcrust
In a bowl, mix the egg with the sugar.
Add the yogurt and then the oil, and blend well.
Begin adding the flour (previously sifted) gradually and, finally, the baking powder.
Knead well on a lightly floured surface until creating a homogeneous and soft dough.
Create star shapes and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 350°F in a preheated static oven for about 10 minutes.
Let the cookies cool completely.
In the meantime, prepare the icing (the amounts I indicate are for a few cookies, as I did not glaze them all).
Put 50 g of powdered sugar in a small bowl and add water gradually, very little at a time. The icing should be thick. If it’s too liquid, you can fix it by adding more powdered sugar and mixing well.
Once the icing is ready, take a cookie and dip only the surface, drain well, and place it on parchment paper to solidify (it will take 10-15 minutes).
Once you’ve finished with the icing and the surface has hardened, you can fill the cookies.
With the help of a teaspoon, I placed jam in the center of the unglazed cookie and then placed the glazed one on top with the central hole.
Your fantastic Yogurt Stars are ready to be devoured!
