I share with you this wreath made with simple and delicious cookies filled with hazelnut cream. A beautiful idea to present at the table for the holidays. The cookies are made with my oil-based shortcrust pastry, a soft pastry that wins over bite after bite. The Cookie Wreath is very simple to make, just create all the shapes and then assemble them. Let’s start playing.
a hug, Giusi
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3.5 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3.5 tbsp milk
- 1 egg
- 4 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
Steps
Pour the flour and sugar into a bowl and mix. Begin to add the warm milk and then the oil, also add the egg and finally the baking powder. Knead as long as possible in the bowl and then continue working the dough on a floured surface until you create a dough ball, more flour may be needed to compact the dough.
Divide the dough into two and roll it out. Take the hazelnut cream, heat it slightly if necessary to help you level it better, and spread it on the first rolled-out shortcrust pastry. Roll out the second dough piece and place it on top. Start creating all the shapes, with the leftover dough you just need to knead again and make delicious ball-shaped cookies.
With the help of a 9.5 inch diameter plate, create a circle on the parchment paper, arrange the stars around the circle overlapping them, press the tips well to make them stick together. Once the wreath is created, bake in a preheated static oven at 355 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes
The Cookie Wreath is ready😍
