Custard and Apple Tart (Perfect for a Snack).
The custard and apple tart is a very tasty dessert, ideal for a healthy snack or to perfectly conclude lunch or dinner.
For this preparation, I used my oil-based shortcrust pastry (very soft!) and my custard.
The soft pastry base contains a delicious custard, and on the surface, I arranged many apple slices. The result is a fragrant and flavorful dessert, with a soft shell and a truly delicious filling.

- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup cornstarch
- lemon zest
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 1/3 tbsp milk
- 3 1/3 tbsp vegetable oil

- grated lemon zest

- 1 lemon (The juice)
Steps for the Tart and Custard
Microwave Method
Mix the egg with the sugar, add the cornstarch, lemon zest, and then the milk. Cook at 800 watts for 4 minutes. After this time, take the bowl and stir vigorously. Put the bowl back in the microwave at 800 watts for 3 minutes. The custard is ready. Cover with plastic wrap and let it cool at room temperature.
Traditional Method
In a bowl, mix the egg and sugar, add the cornstarch as well. Meanwhile, bring the milk almost to a boil and start pouring it into the bowl with the other ingredients. Pour the entire mixture into the saucepan and cook until it thickens.
Pour the flour, baking powder, and sugar into a bowl and mix.
Start adding the warm milk and then the oil; add the egg and grated lemon zest as well. Knead as much as possible in the bowl and then continue working the dough on a floured surface until a dough ball is formed. You may need to add more flour to compact the dough ball.Roll out the dough ball and place it inside a greased and floured pan. (I used a rectangular pan, but if you prefer, you can use a round pan with a diameter of 9-10 inches.)
Once the dough is placed inside the pan, trim the edges and pour the custard.
Slice the apples thinly and mix them with the lemon juice, then start arranging them on top of the tart.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit in a preheated static oven for 30-35 minutes.
Let cool completely in the pan.
The custard and apple tart is ready to be enjoyed!
