Apple fritters are super quick to make. They have only one flaw, they disappear very quickly. If you love apples, I recommend trying them; the apples blend perfectly into the batter. They are a delicious treat for the palate.
Tips:
➡️To know if the oil is ready, just take a wooden skewer and immerse it in hot oil, if bubbles form around the wooden skewer, it means the oil is at the right temperature.
➡️The oil should not be too hot, otherwise you risk having fritters cooked on the outside and raw on the inside. If they darken too much, lower the flame or remove the pan from the heat to let the oil cool down.
➡️If a sort of foam emerges during frying, it means it’s due to too low an oil temperature or a drop in temperature, for example when we try to cook too many pieces at once. In this case, just remove the foam with a skimmer and wait for the oil to return to the right temperature before frying other pieces.
Now, let’s start cooking. Enjoy the recipe, Giusi.

- 3 tbsps vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsps milk
- 1 lemon (grated zest)
- 1 tsp baking powder

Start gradually adding the flour, and after half of it is incorporated, also add the baking powder.

The batter should be sticky.
Heat peanut oil in a pan with high edges.
To know if the oil is ready, carefully dip a toothpick; if it sizzles and bubbles form around it, the oil is ready.
With the help of two oil-greased spoons, form balls and gently immerse the fritters, cooking for a few minutes on each side until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels, roll in granulated sugar, and enjoy.
