PLUMCAKE WITH FRESH GRAPES

Here is a seasonal recipe: plumcake with fresh grapes, yogurt, and chopped hazelnuts.
A simple and genuine cake that brings all the fragrances and flavors of autumn to the table. Like the classic 7-jar yogurt plumcake, in this version, I’ve chosen to use yogurt, which gives a soft and light texture, perfect for highlighting the natural sweetness of the grapes.
If you love grape desserts, you can’t miss this plumcake: easy to prepare, it stays soft for several days, and is ideal at any time of the day. It beautifully accompanies a cup of tea or coffee at breakfast, becomes a delicious energy boost at snack time, and is that simple yet irresistible indulgence after a meal that everyone loves.
I enriched the top with a generous sprinkle of chopped hazelnuts that, once baked, creates a crunchy and fragrant crust, perfectly contrasting with the softness of the dough.
Let’s see together how to prepare this delicious plumcake with fresh grapes.

  • Beat the eggs well with the brown sugar and a pinch of salt until they become light and frothy.

Gradually incorporate the sifted flour with baking powder, stirring gently from bottom to top.

    Plumcake with grapes and yogurt
  • Add half of the grapes to the batter, lightly flouring them to prevent sinking, then mix gently.

  • Butter and flour a plumcake pan about 10 inches long, pour in the mixture, place the remaining grapes on top, then distribute the chopped hazelnuts over the entire surface.
Bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F for about 45-50 minutes. Perform the toothpick test: if, after inserting it, it comes out dry, the cake is ready to be removed from the oven (baking time may vary depending on the oven).
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and allow to cool completely.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
