Baked apples recipe
Peel the apples and cut them into wedges, removing the core (I used this tool here).
Soak the raisins in warm water, drain, and dry them. Chop the dry cookies and whole almonds with a mixer; this step is not needed if you buy chopped almonds.
In a baking dish, pour a cup of apple juice on the bottom, then place the apple wedges on top.
Add the raisins, chopped cookies, and almonds, grated zest of an edible-skinned lemon, brown sugar, and a sprinkle of cinnamon; mix everything gently with a spoon.
Bake at 355°F for about 20 minutes and serve warm.
A true delight, baked apples enriched with raisins, almonds, and cinnamon, perfect for a snack with friends or as a post-meal treat. Ideal to enjoy on colder days, this recipe is genuine comfort food.
Storage and tips
Storage: Baked apples can be stored in a container with a lid at room temperature for 1-2 days. They can be reheated in a traditional oven or microwave; I recommend adding a bit of apple juice first.
Tips: Based on your taste, chop the cookies and almonds more or less coarsely. I made them very fine, but if you prefer a crunchier dish, just crumble a little less.
