CHOCOLATE AND ORANGE COOKIES

Soft and fragrant chocolate and orange cookies without butter, super simple and quick to make, a recipe you will love because these orange treats have a tender heart and are ideal for the entire family. Made with just a few ingredients, they are pastries flavored with orange zest, enriched with unsweetened cocoa powder, and garnished with chopped hazelnuts. A true delight, they are the best cookies in the world!
I made them into balls, just like I did with the corn and chocolate cookies so that in no time they will be ready to be baked and cooked at a temperature of 300°F for about fifteen minutes…and you will smell the aroma throughout the house! What are you waiting for?

Ingredients

Yields about 40 cookies

  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 packet vanillin
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 orange zest
  • as needed chopped hazelnuts

Tools

  • Baking tray
  • Sifter flour

Recipe

  • Mix the sifted flour with the sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, one packet of vanillin, one teaspoon of baking powder, and the grated zest of an edible orange.
Beat the egg whites until very stiff and add them to the sifted mixture, then knead (if necessary with your hands) until you get a dense and creamy dough.

  • Now with the ready dough, form round balls the size of a walnut and place them, slightly spaced apart, on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Using the back of a teaspoon, make a slight indentation on top and sprinkle some chopped hazelnuts on each cookie.
Bake in a preheated oven in static mode at 300°F for about 15-18 minutes (the cooking time may vary slightly depending on your oven.)

  • These orange and chocolate-flavored cookies are truly amazing. Quick and easy to prepare, they are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, ideal as a sweet treat at the end of a meal or whenever you crave “sweetness” during the day. Loved by the whole family, both adults and children, they will be gone soon!
