Simple recipe: easy and quick meatballs in tomato sauce that are also very soft and tasty, made with white meat like the white wine meatballs you can also make with ground beef, just like what is used for meat ragù.
Today I propose a recipe to make meatballs in sauce in very little time but tasty like grandma’s slow-cooked ones. You can prepare the meatballs the day before, store them in the fridge and the next day you just need to cook them directly in the tomato sauce.
If you too can’t resist the call of the “meatball” and your commitments leave you little time to dedicate to cooking, here’s a quick idea to serve a dish that will please the whole family, I’m sure!

Ingredients
- 10.5 oz mixed ground meat (chicken + veal or beef)
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 bunch parsley
- 1 clove garlic
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- 1.5 cup tomato pulp
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Half onion
- to taste salt
Tools
- Pan
- Bowl
Recipe
Place all the ingredients for making the meatballs (the ground meat, an egg, the grated Parmesan cheese, the parsley and chopped garlic, the breadcrumbs, the salt, the pepper) in a bowl and mix until well combined.
With the mixture, form the meatballs by shaping the mixture with your palms and place them on a plate.
In a non-stick pan, sauté the chopped half onion with the olive oil and when it has colored, add the tomato pulp, let it flavor for 5 minutes, salt, then place the meatballs side by side and cook them for about 20 minutes.
Such a tasty second course! It’s always hard to resist meatballs in sauce… and then, shall we prepare bread for the “scarpetta”? Enjoy your meal!
Storage and Tips
Storage: meatballs in sauce can be stored in the fridge already cooked for 2-3 days. You can decide to prepare the mixture beforehand and cook them when needed.
Tips: you can make them with either white ground meat or beef.
For a more flavorful sauce, you can also add a carrot along with the onion, and for those who like it, add a pinch of pepper.
Instead of tomato pulp, you can use tomato passata, but if it turns out too thick, I recommend adding a bit of water.
