- 3/4 cup sugar
- 9 tbsp butter
- 3 eggs
- 1 packet baking powder
- 3 apples

Steps
Let’s see how to prepare the cake.
Firstly, wash the apples well. Melt the butter, it should cool slightly before use. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar well with a whisk, then add the butter, mixing well, and the grated lemon zest. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt and start adding to the mixture, stirring vigorously, the mixture should be nice and smooth. Take 1 apple and cut it into thin slices and the other 2 into pieces and squeeze some lemon juice to prevent them from turning brown. Add the chopped apples to the mixture, mixing well. Butter and flour a baking pan and pour the mixture, spreading it well, then place the apple slices on top. Bake at 356°F in a preheated oven and cook for 35/40 minutes.

Remember when using lemon or orange peels that it is advisable to use organic, untreated products, otherwise wash the peels very carefully before use.
The cake keeps for 4/5 days either in the oven turned off or inside a dedicated container.
