Here is another dish from the ethnic cuisine that we love, this time we are in India and we will prepare Curry Chicken, which is cooked with a fragrant mix of spices and a yogurt-based sauce. Try it with Naan bread, a unique combination!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Rest time: 1 Hour
- Preparation time: 45 Minutes
- Portions: 6 people
- Cooking methods: Stove
- Cuisine: Indian
Ingredients
- 2.6 lbs chicken breast
- 4 tbsps olive oil
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp dried onion
- 1 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1 1/4 cups plain yogurt
- 2 tsps curry (powdered)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp ginger powder
- 1 tsp cumin (seeds or powder)
- 4 pinches fine salt
Preparation
Cut the chicken breast into cubes about 1/2-3/4 inch.
Prepare the sauce by placing the spice mix, salt, a tablespoon of olive oil in a large bowl and mix until combined. Now add the yogurt and mix well.
Now put the chicken cubes into the yogurt sauce, stir so that it is fully covered by the sauce, cover the container with plastic wrap and let it marinate for at least an hour in the refrigerator. If you don’t have time, you can leave it for just 15 minutes, the meat will be a little less flavorful but still tasty.
In a large pan, put three tablespoons of olive oil, garlic, onion, and chili. Lightly brown and add the marinated chicken. Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Towards the end of cooking, if too liquid, let it dry, but leave a little broth, otherwise it will be too dry. If necessary, adjust the salt.
And bon appétit!
