My daughter loves pizza but isn’t a fan of sweets, so to create an impactful recipe, I decided to make this Savory Puff Pastry Hand (Halloween) with a filling reminiscent of pizza. Easy and quick, but really tasty! Oh, the ants are fake 🙂
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Affordable
- Preparation time: 30 Minutes
- Portions: 6 people
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 2 puff pastry (round, 230g)
- 3 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 1.75 oz Emmental cheese (sliced)
- 1.75 oz cooked ham (sliced)
- to taste Oregano
- to taste Salt
- to taste Olive oil
Preparation
Roll out the puff pastry, place your hand on it (or draw one on parchment paper) and cut out with a knife or pizza cutter. Do the same with the second puff pastry.
Put the tomato sauce in a bowl, season with oregano, a little salt (if necessary), and a bit of olive oil. Spread it on the hand.
Place the cheese slices on top.
Now add the slices of cooked ham.
Cover everything with the other hand and seal all around the edge with a fork. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake at 356°F for about 20 minutes.
Tips/Advice
I recommend using round puff pastry as there is less waste compared to rectangular.
For a “Halloween” effect, you can put a knife in the center of the palm and add some tomato sauce.
