I love trying new combinations of flavors and new dishes. That’s how Mozzarella and Ham in Carriage was born, with the addition of a slice of hard-boiled egg to give it an extra touch of flavor. If you want a hearty breakfast or a tasty snack. For the filling, you can get creative, using cheeses and cold cuts of your choice.
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: 4 people
- Cooking methods: Stovetop
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- 8 slices White Bread
- 4 slices Cooked Ham
- 1 125g Mozzarella
- 1 Hard-Boiled Eggs
- 4 Eggs
- 250 g Breadcrumbs
- to taste Olive Oil
- 2 pinches Fine Salt
Preparation
Cut both the mozzarella and the hard-boiled egg into four parts.
Take a slice of white bread (if you prefer, you can cut the edges with a knife), place the slice of ham on top, then the slice of mozzarella, and finally a slice of hard-boiled egg.
Try to roll the mozzarella and egg inside the ham so that it doesn’t come out during cooking.
Cover with the other slice of white bread.
Beat the eggs in a dish, adding two pinches of fine salt.
Dip the toasts first in the beaten egg, then in the breadcrumbs, then again in the egg and breadcrumbs, lightly pressing the sandwich to compact it.
Put a little oil in a pan, it must cover the bottom well, fry the sandwiches for a few minutes on each side until they are golden and crispy.
