Tortiglioni with Artichokes and Canned Meat in Aspic

Tortiglioni with artichokes and canned meat in aspic is a very quick dish to prepare, but extremely tasty, truly excellent, an unusual combination that will surprise you with its unique flavor. You can prepare this pasta either with artichokes in oil or with fresh ones.

  • Difficulty: Very easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 servings
  • Cooking methods: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 11 oz Tortiglioni
  • 9.5 oz canned meat in aspic (3 tins)
  • 1 cup Artichokes in oil
  • 2 tsps Coarse salt
  • 2 tbsps Olive oil

Preparation

  • In a large pan, put the oil, slice the artichokes and fry them for a few minutes.

Now add the canned meat in aspic, trying to break it up with a fork.

In a pot, bring abundant water to a boil, add the salt and pasta.

Two minutes before the cooking time is up, drain the pasta with a slotted spoon directly into the pan with the sauce.

Add a bit of cooking water, stir, and finish cooking in the pan.

Tips/Advice

You can prepare this recipe with fresh artichokes instead of those in oil. You will need 250g (about 9 oz) of cleaned artichokes. Once sliced, cook them in a pan with a little oil, salt, and water. They need to soften before adding the canned meat.

You can use your preferred pasta instead of tortiglioni, such as penne rigate, farfalle, rigatoni, or fusilli. However, it is preferable to use larger pasta.
