To celebrate Valentine’s Day, you don’t always have time to prepare elaborate and time-consuming desserts. Time is often short, but still, you don’t want to give up on a beautiful and tasty cake. And here’s the solution: the Heart-Shaped Puff Pastry Cake with Strawberries and Apples. Easy, quick, delicious, impressive with fast cooking!

Ingredients
- 1 Round shortcrust pastry of 230g
- 8.8 oz Strawberries
- 1.76 oz Sugar
- 1 Juice of half a lemon
- 3 red apples, totaling about 1.1 lbs
- to taste sugar
- to taste Powdered sugar
Preparation
Prepare the strawberries: wash them, remove the stalks, cut them into halves or quarters depending on their size and let them macerate in a small saucepan with sugar and lemon for about half an hour. Put them in a blender and blend them until you get a puree.
Now cut the shortcrust pastry to form a heart, following the instructions in the photos.
From the pastry scraps, create strips about 2 inches long and about half an inch wide (if you prefer you can use another shortcrust pastry).
Slightly flatten the base with your fingers, roll up the strips trying to widen the upper part to create a flower.
Lightly wet the edge with water, place the small shortcrust pastry flowers on the edges of the heart.
Prick the base with a fork.
Bake at 356°F for about 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool.
Meanwhile, wash the apples, cut them in half, remove the cores, and slice them thinly.
Fill a small saucepan with water, as soon as it boils, dip the apple slices, cook them for about 5 minutes until they become soft, but not too soft, they should not fall apart, they should remain crisp.
Drain them in a colander.
Place 5 slices of apple one after the other, sprinkle them with a little sugar, roll them up, and arrange them to form a small rose.
Spread the puff pastry with the strawberry puree, arrange the apple roses, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Tips/Advice
If you prefer, you can use another shortcrust pastry to decorate the edges of the heart.
To soften the puff pastry, prepare the cake in the morning for the evening.
Please do not overcook the apples, they should be soft but not too soft, they should not fall apart, they should remain crisp.
