Marshmallow Snowmen

This time, I’m not suggesting a real recipe, but an idea to create with your children, a small snowy landscape with two cute snowmen and a reindeer which I couldn’t get to stand, so I had to photograph it sitting. These Marshmallow Snowmen are my way of wishing you Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 30 Minutes
  • Portions: 3 people
  • Cooking methods: No cooking
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 15 marshmallows (white)
  • 15 sticks (salty pretzel sticks)
  • 2 gummy candies (berries)
  • 6 sugar candies (shaped like eyes)
  • 1 food coloring pens (red)
  • 1 food coloring pens (green)
  • 1 sheet fondant (marshmallow, red color)
  • 1 pretzel (small salty pretzel)
  • to taste grated coconut

Preparation

  • For each snowman, take 3 marshmallows, pierce the middle one with a toothpick from side to side, while the other two should be pierced only up to a little more than halfway.

  • Now insert the pretzel stick inside the middle marshmallow and attach the other two above and below. This will form the snowman’s body.

  • Pierce the sides of the body with a toothpick and insert a small piece of pretzel stick to make the arms.

  • Apply a tiny amount of the food coloring pen (used as glue) to the back of the eyes and attach them to the snowman’s head.

Draw the mouth with the food coloring pen.

  • Now add the details: cut strips from the marshmallow fondant to use as a scarf, for the buttons, make small pieces of fondant and attach them to the body using the food coloring pen.

For the hat, I used gummy candy berries, one raspberry and one blackberry.

  • For the reindeer, the process is the same: pierce the marshmallows with a toothpick, insert the pretzel stick inside the two marshmallows forming the body, attach the head with another stick, then the legs, attach the eyes, use a small split pretzel as antlers, draw the nose with the food coloring pen.

  • To complete the landscape, I used fake pine trees and a fence, but feel free to get creative with your imagination.
