  • 2 Mozzarella of 4.4 oz each
  • 1.8 oz Fresh creamy cheese
  • to taste Olive oil
  • 2 tsps Coarse salt
  • 2 tbsps Grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

  • In a pot, heat some oil, add the garlic clove, finely chopped onion, and celery.
Sauté, add the tomato sauce, marjoram, a bit of salt, and pepper.
Continue cooking over low heat for about 40 minutes.

  • In a bowl, mix the ground meat with the eggs, bread soaked in milk, Parmesan, a tablespoon of breadcrumbs, parsley, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well and form small meatballs, no larger than a hazelnut. On a plate, place about six tablespoons of breadcrumbs and coat the meatballs. Heat a non-stick pan with a little oil and fry the meatballs, making sure they are well browned on all sides.

  • Remove them from the heat and place them in a bowl.

  • In a pot, bring plenty of water to a boil, add two teaspoons of coarse salt and the pasta.
Halfway through cooking, drain with a slotted spoon and place it directly in a lightly oiled 12×9.5 inch rectangular baking dish.
Mix with the sauce, meatballs, diced mozzarella, pieces of creamy cheese, and mix well.
Sprinkle the surface with plenty of grated Parmesan cheese.
Finish cooking in the oven at 356°F for about 25 minutes.

Notes

Instead of mozzarella, you can also use smoked provolone cut into very small cubes. Instead of creamy cheese, you can use béchamel sauce.

To make the meatballs even more flavorful, you can use half ground beef and half sausage.
