Chicken and Sausage Rolls Stuffed with Peas

I wanted to try a quick recipe for dinner, in two versions: a lighter one with chicken and a stronger one with sausage. Let’s see which one you prefer!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 15 Minutes
  • Cooking time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 4 servings
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 2.2 lbs Sausage (8 sausages)
  • 1.54 lbs Chicken breast (8 slices)
  • 1 Bouillon cube (delicate broth cube)
  • 1 tsp Fine salt
  • 14 oz Peas
  • 7 oz Cream cheese

Preparation

  • Cook the peas in plenty of salted water where you have added a delicate bouillon cube.
Drain them and place in a bowl.
Open the sausage in two parts, put two teaspoons of cooked peas on one side and two of cream cheese on the other.
Pound the chicken slices with a meat tenderizer after protecting them with tissue paper, lay them out on a surface and place two teaspoons of peas and two of cream cheese on top. Roll them up well, and if needed, close them with a toothpick.
In a large skillet sprayed with cooking spray, cook both the sausages and the chicken rolls for about 20 minutes, turning often to brown them on all sides.
Serve with a side of peas.

Notes

If you want, you can use other vegetables (like spinach or Swiss chard) or another cheese, as long as it’s not too watery.
