This sauce is typical of Emilia Romagna and I am convinced that each of you has your own version, as I am convinced that all are excellent! Today I propose my personal recipe in How to Make: Bolognese Meat Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 qt Tomato puree
- 1/2 cup Water
- 14 oz Ground beef
- 9 oz Sausage
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Onion
- 1 Celery stalk
- 2 tbsps Olive oil
- 4 leaves Basil
- 3 pinches Fine salt
- 2 pinches Ground black pepper
- 1 clove Garlic
- 2 tsps Sugar
Preparation
Wash the vegetables well and chop them finely.
In a pot, sauté the minced onion, carrots, and celery in a little oil for a few minutes.
Add the clove of garlic, ground meat, and sausage without the skin, broken into pieces.
Brown well.
Cover everything with tomato puree and water, add the salt, pepper, sugar, and basil leaves.
Let it cook for about 2 hours on low heat.
Adjust the salt and pepper.
Tips/Advice
The amounts of meat can vary according to your personal taste, as well as the cooking time, since the longer it cooks, the more the sauce will thicken.
With these quantities, you will obtain about 2.6 to 2.9 lbs of sauce.
