What It Is and How to Do It: Coloring Corn Flakes

Do you want an innovative and fun idea to decorate your desserts? A really quick way to make your creations unique? Why not try coloring corn flakes? I used red, but you can even make them rainbow-colored if you want!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Very cheap
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Cooking time: 5 Minutes
  • Portions: 50 g corn flakes
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 2 cups Corn flakes
  • 2 tsp Food colorings (red)
  • 3 tbsp Water

Preparation

  • In a small pot, dissolve the sugar in water.
    Add the food coloring.
Add the corn flakes into the pot and stir well with a spoon to color them as evenly as possible.
Place the corn flakes on a surface covered with parchment paper to dry, trying to separate them from each other.

Notes

To dry the corn flakes better, place a sheet of parchment paper on the oven tray and scatter them on top, bake for 5 minutes at 320°F, then let them cool and, if necessary, separate them from each other. For finer coloring, you can use powdered sugar.
