Always in the realm of special salts, Persian Blue Salt is another ingredient with which I like to enrich some dishes.
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Medium
- Cuisine: Italian
Ingredients
- to taste salt (Persian blue)
Preparation
This is a really special salt, it comes from Lake Semnam in Iran, although nowadays it is mostly extracted from dedicated mines located deep within the mountain ranges of Iran, whose sedimentation processes give it its characteristic color.
The blue shades are due to the presence of sylvite (a mineral rich in potassium chloride) and its aroma is particularly spicy, although not very persistent.
Being a salt, it is recommended to limit its use for people with hypertension.
This product is especially suitable for grilled or roasted white meats, fish and seafood, bread, pizza, focaccia, cooked vegetables, truffle, potatoes.
Alternatively, it can be purchased ready-to-use, available in major supermarkets.
