Savory Tart with Mozzarella and Cherry Tomatoes

The savory tart with mozzarella and cherry tomatoes, with colors reminiscent of the Italian flag (green, white, and red), truly cheerful and tasty, ideal for a picnic or brunch with friends. Rich in flavor and freshness, also great for a light dinner.

Tip to speed up: use a ready-made flatbread!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 30 Minutes
  • Cooking time: 30 Minutes
  • Portions: 6 people
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1.75 oz Parmigiano Reggiano DOP (grated)
  • 2 tsp Instant yeast for savory preparations
  • to taste Fine salt
  • to taste Black pepper (ground)
  • 3.5 tbsp Milk
  • 8 Cherry tomatoes
  • 8 Mozzarella balls
  • 3.5 oz Prosciutto crudo
  • 5.5 oz Cream cheese
  • 1 bunch Arugula
  • to taste Fine salt
  • to taste Olive oil
  • to taste Dried oregano

Preparation

  • Put the eggs, a pinch of salt and pepper, oil, milk, and Parmigiano in a bowl.

Beat with a whisk, add the flour and yeast, and mix everything well.

Put the dough in a 10-inch greased pan and bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.

Remove the tart from the oven and flip it onto a plate.

  • Spread the surface with cream cheese, decorate with halved cherry tomatoes previously seasoned with salt, oil, and oregano, halved mozzarella balls, arugula, and prosciutto.

You can add more seasoning once the tart is decorated (oil, salt, oregano).

Don’t over-season as the prosciutto is usually quite flavorful.

Notes

Since the prosciutto is already flavorful, I recommend seasoning the tart first and adding it as the last ingredient, so you place it on top of the other seasoned ingredients.

To speed up preparation and avoid turning on the stove, you can use a ready-made flatbread.
