Whole Wheat Penne with Surimi Sauce

A very quick dish to make, I used surimi because my daughter loves it, so why not please her?

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Cooking time: 30 Minutes
  • Portions: 2 people
  • Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 7.1 oz Penne Rigate (whole wheat)
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 3.5 oz Surimi
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 2 tsps Coarse Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Preparation

  • Dice 2 tomatoes and place them in a pan with a little oil and 1/2 clove of garlic.
Cook for about 15 minutes, add the diced surimi and cook for another 5 minutes.
Put plenty of water in a pot, season with two teaspoons of coarse salt.
As soon as it boils, add the pasta and drain it with a slotted spoon a few minutes before the cooking time indicated on the package.
Toss into the pan with the sauce and add some pepper to taste and serve hot.

Notes

Surimi is a food preparation mainly composed of cooked cod pulp, packaged into small orange-colored cylinders on the outside and white on the inside that aim to imitate crab meat.
You can also use non-whole wheat pasta, but the taste will not be the same.
