Chocolate and Cereal Bars

The chocolate and cereal bars are tasty and irresistible treats. Sometimes I have “epiphanies” in the kitchen, and even at the supermarket! While shopping I came across a package of puffed spelt and within seconds I thought of this recipe. Milk chocolate bars, filled with puffed spelt and white chocolate. According to my boyfriend, they are the best he’s ever eaten, try it to believe it!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 2 Hours
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 8 Pieces

Ingredients

  • 14 oz Milk Chocolate
  • 2 3/4 oz Puffed Spelt
  • 7 oz White Chocolate

Preparation

  • To make the chocolate and cereal bars, melt the milk chocolate in a bain-marie. Line a rectangular container with parchment paper and pour in half of the chocolate, adhering it to the base and edges, then refrigerate to set.

  • Meanwhile, in a bowl, melt the white chocolate in a bain-marie, then add the puffed spelt, and use a spatula to mix so the chocolate coats the spelt evenly.

  • Remove the container from the refrigerator and pour in the spelt mixture, leveling it well with the help of a spatula. Use a knife to make rectangular indentations to form the bars.

  • Cover the whole thing with the remaining melted milk chocolate and refrigerate for two hours.

  • After the time has passed, turn the mixture over on a work surface, remove the parchment paper, and cut the bars with a knife.

  • The chocolate and cereal bars can be stored in the refrigerator for several days, although it will be hard to resist!
