Quick Piedmontese Raisin Fritters

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3.5 oz milk
  • 1 egg
  • Half packet baking powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 oz raisins
  • lemon zest

Preparation

  • Put the flour with the baking powder in a bowl, add the milk and mix.

  • Add the egg, grated lemon zest, sugar, and raisins, mix everything, you will get a sort of creamy batter.

  • Heat the oil in a high-sided pan and pour the mixture using two tablespoons.

  • Fry until golden, turning them with a slotted spoon.

  • Drain on kitchen paper and sprinkle with powdered sugar or roll them in granulated sugar.
