Apple and orange cake, winter hug cake, a soft and moist cake with a delightful taste. I combined my two favorite cakes, the ones I prepare most often, the apple cake and the orange cake, to prepare an even tastier cake, great to enjoy at breakfast, as a snack, or even as a dessert. I’ve made the right adjustments to achieve a perfect outcome. I replaced the yogurt I usually use for the apple cake with plenty of orange juice, which gives it an extraordinary taste. A real treat with a soft yet moist cake that’s even better with lots of apple slices. For the weekend, I like to prepare a good breakfast at home, and with this cake, success is guaranteed. Easy to prepare, it is a butter-free cake with few and simple ingredients. Let’s see how to prepare it.

Steps to Prepare the Apple and Orange Cake
Let’s start by preparing the apples; peel them, slice them, and drizzle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Prepare a 8-9 inch greased and floured cake pan; a 10-inch pan can also be used for a shorter cake that bakes faster.
After measuring all the ingredients for the recipe and preparing the needed orange juice with a citrus juicer, preheat the oven to 350°F static, leaving only the rack halfway up in the oven.
Using electric whisks at maximum speed, beat the eggs in a bowl at room temperature. Add the sugar after a few seconds and continue to beat for a few minutes until the mixture is light, fluffy, and foamy.
Now, work at low speed and add the oil in a thin stream, then also add the orange juice. Finally, add the flour and baking powder and mix gently.
Pour some of the batter into the pan. Spread a layer of apples on top, then more batter, more apples, and more batter. Decorate with the remaining apple slices, sprinkle the slices with a little brown sugar, and bake.
Bake for about 50 minutes in a preheated static oven at 350°F. Do the toothpick test before removing from the oven; it should come out dry. If the pan is 10 inches, it might only need 40 minutes of baking, but it’s always good to check.
Remove the apple orange cake from the oven when it is done, transfer it to a platter, and sprinkle with some powdered sugar before slicing. It stays fresh for days as if just made. Due to the apples, consume within 3-4 days at most.
