Sea Bream with Potatoes in the Microwave

in

SEA BREAM WITH POTATOES IN THE MICROWAVE, a quick and easy dish. Cooks in minutes like SEA BREAM IN THE MICROWAVE and LEMON SEA BREAM IN THE MICROWAVE, but enriched with MICROWAVE AU GRATIN POTATOES, sliced thinly to become beautifully crispy, the perfect side for the fish. In this recipe, I will reveal how to precook the potato slices in the microwave, allowing you to cook both the potatoes and the fish together in the microwave.

If you’re curious to learn about microwave cooking, remember that I have published a book, Gribaudo publisher, dedicated to microwave cooking, The Great Microwave Book.

Ingredients for Making Sea Bream with Potatoes in the Microwave

  • 1 sea bream (whole, about 1 lb)
  • 3 potatoes (medium (1.25 lbs))
  • 3 sprays extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 2 pinches dried oregano
  • 2 pinches salt

Tools Needed for Cooking Fish in the Microwave

  • 1 Microwave Oven with combined microwave + grill function
  • 1 Microwave Baking Dish heating material (crisp)
  • 1 Mandoline
  • 1 Container for steaming in the microwave
  • Parchment Paper

Procedure

Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. If they are new potatoes, you can leave the skin on; otherwise, peel them. Use the mandoline to slice the potatoes into even slices.

  • After slicing the potatoes, distribute them in a steaming container and add 3.5 oz of water to the bottom. Close with the lid, leaving the valve open, and place the potatoes in the microwave. Cook for 10 minutes at 800 watts.

  • While the sliced potatoes are cooking in the microwave, clean the sea bream by removing the entrails and quickly rinsing it under water. Peel and slice the garlic clove.

I recommend consuming immediately. If you wish, you can substitute the sea bream with sea bass or small cod.
