- Difficulty: Very Easy
- Cost: Medium
- Preparation time: 30 Minutes
- Portions: 4 People
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 3.5 lbs sea bass (4 whole sea bass about 14 oz each)
- 4.4 lbs coarse salt
- to taste olive oil
Steps
Wash and gut the sea bass.
Take a rectangular baking tray of 12×9 inches, cover it with parchment paper and make a layer of coarse salt on the bottom. Place the cleaned sea bass on top.
Our sea bass fit in one tray. You can add some herbs inside if you wish, but it’s completely optional.
Now cover them well with the remaining salt. There should not be any part uncovered, otherwise, they might burn.
Bake in the oven at 356°F for about an hour.
You’ll know it’s done when the crust feels hard and compact when tapped with a spoon.
Thoroughly clean the sea bass from all the salt, removing it with a spoon and placing it in a bowl.
All that’s left is to clean the sea bass by removing the skin, bones, and head. You can dress the sea bass with a little olive oil or enjoy it with a sauce of your choice.
