The puff pastry twists with sausages are tasty and quick snacks to prepare, perfect for appetizers, buffets, or as a delicious starter.
These delightful snacks are easy to make and very economical. They are perfect to serve at Christmas as a starter but also to accompany an aperitif.
They are a great alternative to Olive in Puff Pastry, Christmas Breadsticks with Pesto but also to Savory Puff Pastry Baskets.
You can also prepare them the day before and serve them either hot or cold. If you don’t have puff pastry, you can use shortcrust pastry. These twists are also loved by children!

Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 3 sausages (large)
- 2 tablespoons cream cheese
- 1 egg yolk
- to taste sesame seeds

Steps
Preheat the oven to 356 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Cut the sausages lengthwise to create strips. In a bowl, beat the egg yolk.
Unroll the puff pastry and spread the cream cheese on top. Use the tip of a knife to cut 8 strips, starting from the long side.
Lay the cut sausages along the strips and use a knife to divide the pastry in half, creating 16 pieces. See photo
Twist each strip to form the twists and place them on the lined baking tray. Brush each twist with the beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
