- 1 Bowl
- 1 Chopper
- 1 Spatula
- 1 Fork
- 1 Knife
- 1 Sieve
- 1 Saucepan
Steps
Start by peeling the apples and after cutting them into wedges, put them in a saucepan with water to cover them.
If you like, add 4 dried plums as well.
Add a teaspoon of honey and 2 of cinnamon.
If you love this spice, you can add more than 2 teaspoons.
Cook the fruit until it is soft.
Turn off and set aside.
In a bowl or in the food chopper bowl, add the cracked eggs, sugar, lemon zest, a pinch of salt, and blend.
I used the food processor.
Add the olive oil, yogurt, 3 tbsp of apple water and continue to mix (or blend, if using the processor).
Now add the dry ingredients, sifted baking powder, and flour.
Line the mold with parchment paper or if you prefer, butter and flour it.
My mold measures 8.5 inches.
Pour a first layer of batter into the pan and add some of the apples and plums on top.
Cover with the remaining batter and the leftover apples, then sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit in static mode and when it reaches temperature, bake and cook the cake for about 40 minutes.
Always do the toothpick test before turning off.
All that’s left is to say, enjoy this simple and fragrant goodness.
Preserving the Whole Wheat Cake with Stewed Apples
The whole wheat cake with stewed apples is best stored in the refrigerator.
Given the presence of fruit, if we want to eat it even two or three days after preparation, it is better to keep it cool.
