I recreated the butter to oil conversion table for myself and for those like me, who often need this information.

Who hasn’t had to convert or substitute these ingredients when preparing a sweet or savory dish?

Often reading a recipe or wanting to modify even our own, we’ve all asked ourselves what if…

what if I wanted to use oil instead of butter? How much will I need? What is the ratio?

Below you will find this simple table that I hope can assist you in the kitchen and with your recipes.

Here are some recipes for sweets and cookies where I removed the butter and replaced it with oil:

Ingredients

  • 0.35 oz butter
  • 0.28 oz vegetable oil

Steps

  • As I mentioned in the introduction, especially before I managed my own cooking blog I often had to make this substitution.

    Sometimes I came across recipes that I really liked and wanted to replicate, but the preparation included butter and I wanted to use oil.

    I often found myself in difficulty because I didn’t know how to proceed.

    So at some point I thought, with a simple-to-read table at hand, I will help myself and others.

    If I publish it, anyone who, like me, wants to vary an ingredient and doesn’t know how to proceed can use this chart as a guide.

    And so I did.
