Besides being delicious, they are also beautiful to present to our guests. The yellowish color given by the turmeric makes them very attractive in appearance.

Ingredients

Let’s see the ingredients we need

  • hazelnut flour (2 oz)
  • 1 egg
  • sugar (1/4 cup)
  • seed oil (1/3 cup)
  • 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • all-purpose flour (1 1/2 cups)

Tools

To prepare the cookies, you’ll need a container, a fork, possibly a food processor to grind whole hazelnuts into flour (if you’re not using pre-made hazelnut flour), a baking sheet, and a cookie cutter.

My round cookie cutter has a diameter of 2 1/4 inches

Steps

  • In a container, beat the egg with the sugar, add the oil and turmeric.

  • At this point, also add the hazelnut flour. I prefer to buy whole hazelnuts and turn them into flour. Use whichever flour you prefer.

After this step, sift the baking powder and flour and add them gradually, until forming our dough, which will be soft and easily workable with a rolling pin.

Cut the cookies with a cutter of your choice and bake in a preheated convection oven at 350°F for about 15 minutes.

  • Your cookies will be ready to be enjoyed. With these quantities, you’ll get about 30 cookies.

Storage, Tips, and Curiosities.

The turmeric and hazelnut cookies will keep perfectly for 4/5 days in a tin box or a glass cookie jar.

The turmeric and hazelnut cookies are perfect to accompany a cappuccino but also tea or hot chocolate.

I recommend trying them because this spice is fantastic in savory preparations but also equally excellent in sweet ones.

bricciola

Hello, I'm Simona, and my page is called BriCciola in cucina, because I dedicated it to my mom and dad, who have called me that since I was little. I'm not a chef, and in my life, I've always dealt with completely different things, but cooking, along with dancing, has always been one of my great passions. However, my greatest inspiration came from the dishes prepared first by my grandmother and now by my mom. Here on my cooking blog, I'll guide you from appetizers to desserts, with recipes designed for a healthy and mindful lifestyle. Balanced dishes, carefully chosen ingredients, and lots of flavors, because eating well never means giving up pleasure. I love eating, but I also like taking care of my health, my family's health, and, in a way, the health of everyone who tries my recipes. That's why daily life should be rich in flavor, but always with a focus on healthy eating. Thank you, I look forward to seeing you.
