How wonderful it is to bake cookies at home. The aroma released into the air during their baking is something marvelous.
And the best thing is for those who find this aroma when coming from outside. There’s no more authentic feeling than gathering with your family and being enveloped by this sweet cookie essence.
The recipe I want to share with you today is simple and homely, they are soft cookies with yogurt, enriched with chocolate chips, orange scents and Kamut flour. Shall we prepare them?

Ingredients
- Kamut® flour (2 cups (260g) or you can use all-purpose flour)
- Greek yogurt (1/2 cup (125g) vanilla flavored)
- brown sugar (1/3 cup (80g) or you can use white sugar)
- 1 egg
- vegetable oil (3 tbsp (40g))
- baking powder (1 tbsp (8g))
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (if you don't have it, use half a packet of vanillin)
- 1 pinch fine salt
- chocolate chips (1/4 cup (40g))
- to taste almonds (you can also use hazelnuts or your favorite nuts)
- orange (edible zest of the whole fruit)
Steps
Take a bowl and start mixing the sugar, egg, vanilla extract, orange zest, pinch of salt, and yogurt. If you usually don’t use vanilla extract, half a packet of vanillin is fine.
Add the chocolate chips, baking powder, and gradually the flour. Work the ingredients well to form a smooth and soft dough.
Now proceed to shape the cookies. I took pieces of dough from the ball, rounded them between my palms to make balls, and then pressed the center with my index finger to create a hole to hold the almonds or hazelnuts if you prefer.
It’s time to bake the cookies. Preheat the oven to 356°F (180°C), fan mode for about 14 minutes. Check based on your oven. Remove from the oven, let cool a bit, and enjoy. Happy snack time.
