Ingredients

  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 roll puff pastry
  • 1 ¼ cups mozzarella
  • 4 ¼ oz mortadella
  • oz grated Parmesan
  • to taste salt

How to Prepare Puff Pastry Swirls with Potatoes

  • First, boil the potatoes, then mash them and season with a pinch of salt and Parmesan.

  • Unroll the puff pastry and fill it with the potato puree. Also, add the mortadella and cheese.

  • Roll the pastry onto itself from the wider side, cover and let rest in the freezer for 20 minutes. Cut the roll into slices about 1 ½ inch thick, and finally place the swirls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • Bake your swirls for 20 minutes at 356°F in a static oven.

Storage and Tips for Puff Pastry Swirls with Potatoes

They are also excellent cold; you can prepare them well in advance and store them in the fridge before cooking. For a tastier filling, you can opt for sausage and stracchino, or spinach and ricotta for a vegetarian version.
