Colored Easter Eggs

  • 7 eggs (white)
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • food coloring (red, fuchsia, light blue, blue)
  • 4 tablespoons vinegar

You will need

  • 4 Small bowls
  • 4 Spoons
  • Paper towels
  • Small saucepan

How to make Colored Easter Eggs

Place the eggs in a saucepan with cold water, bring to a boil and let them cook for about 10 minutes. Once cooked, cool them under cold running water and dry them well with paper towels.
Meanwhile prepare the colors. Take one small bowl for each color you want to make and fill it halfway with hot water. Add one teaspoon of vinegar and a few drops of food coloring: the more you use, the more intense the color will be.
With a spoon gently immerse the egg in the bowl (you can dye two at once if there’s space). Leave it immersed for about 10 minutes, then carefully remove it and place it on a sheet of paper towel.
Let it dry completely without touching it, this way the color will remain even and bright.

Useful tips

For an even more beautiful and creative result, here are a few little tricks I always use:
Marbled effect
Add a few drops of oil to the colored water before dipping the egg: a smeared, original effect will be created.
More intense colors
Leave the eggs in the dye a few minutes longer or add more food coloring.
Two-tone effect
First dip the egg in one color, let it dry and then dip it halfway in another color.
Shiny finish
Once dry, rub a little oil on a piece of paper towel and lightly wipe the egg to make it shine.
For kids
You can also use brushes or sponges for more fun and personalized decorations.
