Pan-fried onions are a simple side dish to pair with any meat or fish dish. It’s also perfect as a base for an onion omelet or as a filling for sandwiches with cold cuts and cheese.
For a meal to prepare quickly, you can make them in advance and heat them at dinnertime.
I also put them on bruschetta for appetizers: I toast the bread slices, add the onions and finish with a drizzle of balsamic glaze. They are delicious!

Steps for Pan-Fried Onions
First, peel the onions, then cut them in half and slice them.
Put the oil in a pan, add the onions, a pinch of salt, and cook them over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes. They should stew without coloring too much, so if necessary, add a little water.
After 10 minutes, the onions are ready. Adjust salt and pepper and serve them hot, or use them as you prefer in your dishes.
