Cantonese Rice Thermomix, a typical first course of Chinese cuisine, very easy and quick to prepare at home. It’s a recipe that everyone loves, even children, and when we go to the Chinese restaurant we always order it. So, why not try making it at home?
It consists of rice with eggs, ham, and peas seasoned with soy sauce. It is a simple dish to prepare; the important thing is the choice of rice: it must be long-grain, like Basmati.
With the Thermomix, this dish is prepared quickly, thanks to multi-level cooking: while the rice cooks in the basket, in the varoma I placed the peas and the cooked ham, and in the tray the omelette. While it does everything, I just relax!
I am really delighted with my Thermomix; I use it every day, and I make anything with it, to the point that my husband asked: don’t you use pots anymore? I hardly use them now!

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups frozen peas
- 7 oz cooked ham (cubed)
- 1 1/4 cups Basmati rice
- 3 eggs
- 5 cups water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- salt
How to prepare Cantonese Rice Thermomix
Put the water in the bowl and bring to a boil with the basket instead of the measuring cup: 10 min./212°F/speed 1.
Fill the basket with the rice and place it in the bowl. Also position the Varoma and place the ham and peas inside. Line the Varoma tray with a sheet of wet and wrung parchment paper and place it on the container. Pour the beaten eggs with a pinch of salt into the tray, close with the lid, and cook 15 min./Varoma/speed 1.
Remove the Varoma, open it, and set the omelette aside. Then transfer the peas and ham to a large bowl.
Remove the basket and transfer the rice into the bowl with the peas and ham.
Empty the bowl and put the omelette pieces inside. Chop for 8 sec./speed 3 and add the eggs to the bowl with the rice.
Adjust the salt, season with olive oil and soy sauce, mix well, and serve immediately.
