The homemade sheet pan pizza with cooked ham is an easy and economical recipe that everyone loves, even the children. In our home, pizza is a weekend classic; I almost always prepare it for Saturday or Sunday evening.
This dough is simple to work with and the rising occurs in about 4 hours, depending on the temperature of the surrounding environment.
With these quantities, you will get dough for an oven tray, ideal for 4 people.
If you don’t have time or desire to prepare pizza dough at home, you can get the ready-made one in the bag at the supermarket. For this recipe, I recommend not using the pre-rolled one as it won’t rise well.

Ingredients for a sheet
- 2 1/2 cups Manitoba flour
- 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1 tsp fresh baker's yeast
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 tbsps extra virgin olive oil (to grease the pan)
- 1 1/4 cups tomato puree (rustic in pieces)
- 9 oz mozzarella for pizza
- 4.2 oz high-quality cooked ham
- 1 pinch salt
How to prepare Sheet Pan Pizza with Cooked Ham
Place the water and flour into the mixer bowl. Start kneading with the hook and add the crumbled fresh yeast.
After 2-3 minutes, add the salt and continue kneading until you obtain a smooth dough (it will take at least 5 minutes). Shape it into a ball with your hands and let it rest in an oiled bowl.
Cover the dough with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm place, away from drafts. It should rise for about 4 hours, depending on the room temperature, but wait until the dough has doubled in volume. Ideally, you should place it in the oven that is turned off but with the light on.
After rising, grease a sheet pan with extra virgin olive oil and gently invert the bowl over it, letting the dough slide down, detaching it with your fingers. Let it rest for at least 10 minutes, then spread it by pressing toward the edges with your fingertips. Let it rest another 30 minutes and then add the toppings.
Top the pizza with tomato sauce, a pinch of salt, and bake for 18 minutes at 390°F.
Meanwhile, slice the mozzarella.
Top with the mozzarella and bake for 4 minutes. Add the torn cooked ham and continue baking for just 2 minutes so the ham doesn’t dry out.
Now remove the pizza from the oven, cut it into pieces, and serve.
