Frozen Croissants in Air Fryer

Here’s how to cook frozen croissants that we buy at the supermarket, in an air fryer; the outer pastry will be crispy while the inside will remain soft, just like croissants from the café!

Preparing these croissants is really simple and quick, I make them on Sundays when we can have a more relaxed breakfast compared to the other days of the week, and we enjoy breakfast as if at the café, with the aroma of croissants in the air making me hungry just thinking about it…

After several attempts, I finally found the right combination of cooking time and temperature to achieve perfect croissants!

I’ll start by saying that there are two types of frozen croissants available in the market:

– those that are cooked from frozen

– those that need to be proofed before cooking

You can find this information on the croissant package, and in both cases, by following my instructions, you’ll achieve a great product, as fragrant as the one from the café.

Whether the croissants you’ve chosen are plain, with jam, or savory, the cooking times do not change.

If you’re considering purchasing an air fryer, I recommend mine; you’ll find the link in the recommended tools!

How to cook Frozen Croissants in Air Fryer

  • If the croissants you’ve bought are to be cooked directly from frozen, just place them directly in the air fryer basket or on a sheet of perforated parchment paper spaced apart.

Cook them immediately for about 15 minutes at 338°F, without preheating. For me, there was no need to turn them, but check them, and if you want, you can do it in the last 2 minutes.

  • If the croissant package says you need to defrost them, I recommend taking them out of the freezer the night before and placing them directly in the air fryer basket or on a sheet of perforated parchment paper, well spaced apart as they will rise.

Close the drawer and let them rise overnight, at least 8 hours.

The next morning, cook them for about 12 minutes at 329°F, without preheating. For me, there was no need to turn them, but check them, and if you want, you can do it in the last 2 minutes.

Notes

Do not cook the croissants on a tray as it will block the air coming from below, slowing down the cooking.

Cooking times may slightly vary depending on the model of air fryer you own; always check the cooking.
