Cheese Stuffed Peppers in Air Fryer

The cheese stuffed peppers cooked in an air fryer are a very tasty and easy-to-prepare dish. They are simple roasted peppers cut into pieces, filled with cheese, and put back in the oven (or better, in the air fryer). A delicious golden crust will form, and the inside will remain stringy.

In this case, I used brie cheese, but you can replace it with another flavorful cheese, such as gorgonzola or taleggio.

If you don’t have an air fryer you can cook this dish in the oven. At the end of the recipe, you’ll find the cooking methods. If you are considering buying one, I recommend mine; you can find the link in the recommended tools!

How to prepare Cheese Stuffed Peppers in Air Fryer

  • Preheat the air fryer for 4 minutes at 356°F.

With the tip of a knife, pierce the bottom of the peppers, place them in the drawer, and cook them at 356°F for 15 minutes.

Turn them over and cook for another 5 minutes at 356°F, then remove them and let them cool. Remove the skin, the stem, empty them of seeds, cut them into slices, and add a pinch of salt if desired.

  • Slice the mozzarella for pizza and the brie and place them on the peppers.

Bake at 374°F for 5 minutes and let the peppers cool for 1 minute before serving.

They are also good the next day at room temperature.

Your questions

  • Can I prepare this dish also in a traditional oven?

Sure! Just cook the peppers in the oven at 392°F for 40 minutes.
After filling them with cheese, let it melt for another 7 minutes.

  • Can I use another type of cheese?

Yes. As a base, I recommend always using mozzarella for pizza and adding a flavorful cheese like fontina, gorgonzola, taleggio, or pecorino.
