The Nutella phyllo cake is a super quick, clever, and super tasty dessert. I had a roll of phyllo dough to use and wanted to make a simple and quick treat, so, inspired by my delicious savory phyllo cake, I made the sweet version, and I must say this one is also amazing! Crunchy, fragrant, and with a creamy filling, the Nutella phyllo cake is perfect for breakfast, a snack, or as a dessert, it’s definitely not a cake for those on a diet, but if you’re craving something delicious and fancy to prepare in less than 10 minutes, without kneading anything, you absolutely have to try it, it’s truly delicious!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 10 Minutes
- Portions: 8-inch pan
- Cooking methods: Oven, Electric Oven, Air Frying
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 2.5 oz milk
- 1.75 tbsp butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 package phyllo dough
- to taste Nutella®
- to taste vanilla
- to taste powdered sugar
Steps
The Nutella phyllo cake is very simple and quick to make, first prepare the batter by mixing milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
Take the roll of phyllo dough, cut it, still closed, into strips about 3/4 inch wide, and separate the various pieces.
Transfer half of the phyllo dough strips into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and pour half of the batter over them. Add a layer of Nutella (more or less generous, I used 4 tablespoons), cover with the other half of the phyllo dough, and also add the remaining batter.
Bake the Nutella phyllo cake in a preheated oven at 355°F for 20 minutes (or in an air fryer at 340°F for 15/18 minutes), it should be well browned.
Garnish the Nutella phyllo cake with a dusting of powdered sugar, cut it into pieces, and enjoy it.
Advice:
The Nutella phyllo cake keeps at room temperature for 3/4 days. You can customize it with the filling you prefer. If you don’t want to use butter, you can use seed oil, but with butter, it will definitely be better, more suitable for a dessert. Instead of milk, you can use a plant-based drink.
