- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 9 oz sausage
- 7 oz stracchino
- 1 roll puff pastry (rectangular)
- 1 egg
Steps
The sausage and stracchino swirls are super easy and quick to prepare. First, remove the sausage casing and place the sausage in a bowl, add the stracchino, and mix the two ingredients thoroughly using a spatula or fork.
Unroll the puff pastry and spread the sausage and cheese cream all over the surface, leaving just a little of the upper edge free (this way, they can be rolled well without the risk of opening during baking).
Form a tight roll and close it well, then cut it into slices about ¾ inch thick. Place the resulting sausage and stracchino swirls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (you can use the puff pastry paper), brush them with beaten egg, and bake in a preheated oven at 390°F for about 25 minutes, until they are well golden.
Tips:
The sausage and stracchino swirls can be stored at room temperature for a few hours or in the fridge for a couple of days.
