The Christmas gift chocolates are no-bake holiday treats shaped like gift packages. I thought of these beautiful and delicious treats, starting from my beloved sweet truffles, which, as many of you know, are among my specialties. I’ve made them in every flavor! Biscuits and chocolate to prepare simple and tasty Christmas treats perfect to make even with the little ones and ideal as gift ideas. They are perfect to give away also because they last for a long time and are great for those intolerant to gluten, eggs, or vegans if you use suitable cookies. I used dark and white chocolate, but you can also use milk or Ruby chocolate, the pink chocolate. If you wish, you can also color the packages with food dyes. With these delicious Christmas gift chocolates, you will make a splash with little effort. They are edible gifts that will charm everyone, perfect also to put in the Epiphany stocking!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 20 Minutes
- Portions: Christmas gift chocolates
- Cooking methods: No-bake
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Winter
Ingredients
- 14 oz dry biscuits
- 7 oz dark chocolate
- 3.5 oz water
- 7 oz chocolate for coating as desired
Steps
The Christmas gift chocolates are super easy and quick to prepare. First, melt the dark chocolate in the microwave or a double boiler. Finely chop the dry biscuits; you can use any type you prefer, even chocolate ones.
In a bowl, place the chopped dry biscuits, room temperature water, melted dark chocolate, and mix all the ingredients well. You will obtain a soft and homogeneous mixture.
Spread the mixture on a sheet of parchment paper, forming a square about 0.8 inches thick. With a knife, cut pieces of various sizes to obtain small squares and rectangles. If you have time, let them solidify.
Melt the white and dark chocolate for the coating separately, and dip the various treats in the chocolate.
Place the Christmas gift chocolates on a sheet of parchment paper and let them dry. Then, with the leftover chocolate, make the “bows” of the gifts. To do a cleaner job, put it in a piping bag without a nozzle or with a very small round nozzle. Let them dry completely before enjoying or storing them.
Notes:
The Christmas gift chocolates can be stored at room temperature for about 3 weeks. To make them even more delicious, you can replace part of the water with dry liqueur of your choice. Do not use milk, otherwise, you will need to keep them in the fridge, and they will only last a few days (3-4).
