The nougat tart is very simple and quick to prepare; bring it to your Christmas holiday tables, and you will make a great impression; it will disappear slice by slice, conquering everyone!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Cheap
- Preparation time: 15 Minutes
- Portions: 8-inch to 9-inch pan
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: Winter
Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 5.3 oz butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- to taste vanilla
- to taste almond flavor
- to taste sliced almonds
- to taste powdered sugar
- 2 cups ricotta
- 4.4 oz nougat
- 1/2 cup sugar
- to taste vanilla
Steps
The nougat tart is very simple and quick to prepare; first, prepare the filling: in a bowl, put the ricotta, sugar, vanilla, and mix with a fork until you obtain a homogeneous cream. Then incorporate the finely chopped nougat (you can use your preferred one; I chose the soft, white, almond one without wafer). Set the cream aside (even in the fridge).
In a bowl, put the flour, sugar, baking powder, a pinch of salt, butter in pieces, almond flavor, vanilla, and give it a quick mix to warm up and slightly melt the butter. Add the eggs and form a crumbly mixture.
Line the base and edge of a baking tray lined with parchment paper with some crumbled shortcrust pastry, add the ricotta cream, and cover the filling with the remaining shortcrust pastry and some sliced almonds.
Bake the crumbled nougat tart in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 40-45 minutes until golden.
Notes:
The nougat tart can be stored at room temperature for 2-3 days or in the fridge for up to 4 days. As mentioned above, you can use your preferred nougat, even chocolate, pistachio, orange, etc., preferably without wafer. Instead of ricotta, you can use mascarpone.
