The cinnamon puff pastries are quick, fragrant, and delicious puff pastry treats. Autumn has arrived, and one of the spices I adore and that reminds me of this season is surely cinnamon. I wanted to prepare some spiced treats, and with a sheet of puff pastry that was about to expire, sugar, and ground cinnamon, I made sweet palmier cookies or Prussians, which literally flew off the tray. They disappear immediately, they didn’t even last half a day with us! The cinnamon puff pastries are prepared in 5 minutes with only 3 ingredients, they are sugary, crispy, and delightful, perfect on their own and great paired with a cup of milk, tea, cappuccino, or hot chocolate. One leads to another, they are too tasty, perfect even as a festive Christmas sweet!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 15-16 cinnamon puff pastries
- Cooking methods: Oven
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
Steps
Cinnamon puff pastries are super easy and quick to prepare. First, put the sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl and mix.
Unroll the puff pastry sheet and spread half of the sugar and cinnamon mixture over the entire surface, pressing well to adhere. Turn the pastry over and repeat on the other side.
Starting from the longer side, roll the pastry tightly to the center, doing the same from the opposite side. Cut pieces slightly less than 3/4 inch wide and place the cinnamon puff pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper (you can use the one from the pastry). Bake the treats in a preheated oven at 392°F for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes:
Cinnamon puff pastries keep at room temperature for 4-5 days.
