  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Economical
  • Rest time: 30 Minutes
  • Preparation time: 5 Minutes
  • Cooking time: 20 Minutes
  • Portions: 15-20 chestnuts
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: Autumn, Winter

Ingredients

  • 9 oz chestnuts
  • to taste water

Steps

  • Chestnuts in the air fryer are very simple and quick to prepare, first wash the chestnuts and incise the upper part with a knife, then soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes, this way the shell and skins will soften and the chestnuts will peel better.

  • After the time has passed, drain the chestnuts and place them inside the air fryer basket, without drying them, and cook them at 356 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. If your chestnuts are small, it will take a couple of minutes less, the important thing is that all the chestnuts are in contact with the base of the basket with the incised part facing up, do not overlap them.

  • After cooking, wrap the chestnuts in a cloth and let them cool or at least warm, this step will further soften the chestnuts, making them extremely easy to peel.

Notes:

Chestnuts in the air fryer can be stored at room temperature for 3-4 days, I recommend peeling them first.
