- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All seasons
Ingredients
- 3.5 oz spicy salami
- 7 black olives
- 2 tbsps grated Parmesan
- 1 sheet puff pastry (rectangular)
- 1 egg
- to taste oregano
Steps
● The salami and olive puff pastries are very simple and quick to prepare. First, unroll the puff pastry sheet and fill the lower half with slices of salami. I used the spicy kind.
● Add the pitted black olives, the grated Parmesan, oregano, and fold the pastry over, pressing well. Then cut vertically into strips slightly over half an inch wide.
● Take a strip and twist it several times, then roll it to form a pinwheel.
● Place the salami and olive puff pastries on a baking tray, brush them with a little beaten egg, and bake in a preheated oven at 400°F for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes:
The salami and olive puff pastries can be stored at room temperature for a few hours or in the fridge for a couple of days. You can use any salami you like, green olives work just as well.
