Torcetti Cheesecake

in ,

The torcetti cheesecake are super delicious and quick puff pastry treats. I had a couple of rolls of puff pastry and a package of cream cheese about to expire, and I wanted to use these two ingredients to prepare delicious and fragrant desserts that have the taste of a traditional cheesecake. Torcetti cheesecake are made in 10 minutes and are crispy with a creamy filling, I warn you, they will literally disappear 😀

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Cost: Cheap
  • Preparation time: 10 Minutes
  • Portions: 20 torcetti cheesecake
  • Cooking methods: Oven
  • Cuisine: Italian
  • Seasonality: All seasons

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt (unsweetened)
  • 2 rolls puff pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 1 lemon zest
  • as needed jam
  • as needed powdered sugar

Steps

  • ● Torcetti cheesecake are super easy and quick to prepare. First, put the cream cheese, plain unsweetened yogurt, sugar, egg, and grated lemon zest in a bowl and mix everything together.

  • ● Pour the mixture onto one sheet of puff pastry and spread it evenly, leaving some space along the edge. Cover the filling with the second roll of puff pastry and seal the edge well.

  • ● Cut the puff pastry vertically into strips about 3/4 inch wide, cut the longer ones in half (if using a rectangular puff pastry, obviously cut them all in half). Spread a few teaspoons of jam over the whole puff pastry and distribute it evenly over the surface.

  • ● Take a strip of puff pastry and twist it several times, don’t worry if a little filling comes out and if they look a bit messy, they should be like that, the whole puff pastry should be “soaked” in cream.

  • ● Arrange the torcetti cheesecake on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake them in a preheated oven at 390°F for about 25 minutes. They should be well browned, then garnish them with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

Notes:

Torcetti cheesecake can be stored at room temperature for about 3 days. You can use the jam (or preserve) you prefer; I used cherry. Instead of yogurt, you can use mascarpone or ricotta.
