The baked and gratinated cod fillets are a simple, quick, and delicious fish main course. I had some frozen fish fillets (and I know you have them too, at the bottom of the freezer :D) and for dinner, I prepared them this way (of course, you can also use fresh fish). They are a real treat! Tender, fragrant, and tasty, these baked cod fillets will be loved by both adults and children, prepared in just a few minutes with a few simple ingredients and are coated in a crispy and tasty breadcrumb, you must try them!
- Difficulty: Easy
- Cost: Economical
- Preparation time: 5 Minutes
- Portions: 4 People
- Cooking methods: Oven, Electric Oven, Air Frying
- Cuisine: Italian
- Seasonality: All Seasons
Ingredients
- 18 oz cod fillets
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 sprig parsley
- to taste lemon zest
- to taste salt
- to taste extra virgin olive oil
- to taste oregano
Steps
The baked cod fillets are very easy and quick to prepare, if, like me, you use frozen fillets, let them thaw before cooking, take them out of the freezer the night before and put them in the fridge (or let them thaw at room temperature if you are in a hurry). You can also use fresh fish, in this case, fillet it and remove the bones with tweezers, leave the skin underneath to prevent the fish from falling apart.
Prepare the breadcrumb coating by mixing the breadcrumbs (I made it at home with toasted bread that I ground a bit coarser) with chopped parsley and garlic and oregano.
Coat the cod fillets evenly and place them on a baking sheet, put the remaining breadcrumb on top, grated lemon zest, salt, extra virgin olive oil, and bake the cod fillets in a preheated oven at 356°F for 15/20 minutes, they should be golden on top.
Advice:
The baked cod fillets, if you use frozen fish, should not be stored. If you use fresh fish, you can keep them in the fridge for one day.
