Apple and Cinnamon Swirls

The apple and cinnamon swirls are easy, fragrant, super quick, and delicious puff pastry treats. I wanted to make some apple treats for breakfast, and in 10 minutes, I prepared delicious rolls with a soft filling rich in apples and cinnamon, a combo I love. Crispy and delightful, with these apple and cinnamon swirls, you’ll win everyone over; they are a real treat, and resisting the temptation to eat them will be almost impossible 😀

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 apples
  • 2 sheets puff pastry (rectangular)
  • 1 egg
  • to taste powdered sugar and cinnamon (for topping)

Steps

  • Apple and cinnamon swirls are very simple and quick to prepare; first, mix the sugar and ground cinnamon. Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces.

  • Unroll one sheet of puff pastry and spread the apples over the entire surface, add the sugar and cinnamon mix, cover with the second sheet of puff pastry, and cut strips about 3/4 inch wide, horizontally.

  • Roll each strip onto itself, forming swirls, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (you can use the one from the puff pastry). Brush the apple and cinnamon swirls with the beaten egg and bake them in a preheated oven at 392°F for 20/25 minutes until they are golden brown.

  • Finish the apple and cinnamon swirls with a dusting of powdered sugar and cinnamon.

Tips:

Apple and cinnamon swirls keep at room temperature for 3/4 days. To make them even more delicious, you can spread some jam on the pastry before adding the apples.
